Maureen Denise McCormick is the younger daughter of Richard McCormick. She was born August 5th, 1956 in Woodland Hills California. Her father was a schoolteacher and her mom was a stay at home mom. Michael Dennis Kevin is her older brother. She has three siblings. From a young age McCormick enjoyed singing and dance, and she would frequently present puppet shows to the neighborhood children. She won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley Contest at age 6 and was then contacted through Pat Domigan, a talent agent of the Jack Wormser Agency. He requested that she be interested to join the show business. McCormick's first job as a professional was in 1964, where she was featured in a television commercial featuring Mattels baby doll, Baby Pattaburp. The following year she starred as Chatty Cathy in a commercial which was later adapted for Wind It Up and It's Breaks at the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was one of 1200 children who auditioned for the role of the oldest towheaded girl in The Brady Bunch. The show starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed who were newlyweds with an unmarried family. The show lasted for five years. McCormick stated in her 2008 memoir Heres the Story : Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice that she was close to having lost her virginity during the fifth season of the show with Barry Williams, her co-star and brother on screen. The actress was just 16 years old and the actor was 19, at that time. It would have happened she said but the timing wasn't the right time for us.
