Katja Herbers is the child of the violinist Vera Beths and oboist Werner Herbers. When she was a kid, Katja Herbers accompanied her mom on a tour across America in the chamber orchestra L'Archibudelli. Her mother remarried cellist Anner Bylsma, and her father remarried costume designer Leonie Polak who introduced her to the theater.
